Out to Sea, Out to Sea,
You and You and You and Me
Out to Sea, Out to See, You and You and You and Me, is a large-scale textile quilt depicting a ship sailing against a backdrop of a starry night sky. Through material experimentation and queered wordplay, the phenomena of seafaring, navigation, and borders is imagined as expansive, creative, and perpetually fluid. “Out to Sea…” understands water as a continuously shifting entity and ever in motion that defies the historical and contemporary paradox of the territorialization that seeks to impose stasis on the seas through infinite variations of form and movement.
